LBG Budapest

BEST, Board of European Students of Technology is a constantly growing nonprofit and non-political organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, cooperation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe.

91 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 30 countries are creating a growing, well organised, powerful, young and innovative student network. Over 3000 active members organise more than 100 events per year reaching almost 1 million students.

BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and educational symposia. "Learning makes the master", but the final goal is a good working place, therefore we offer services like an international career centre to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market. Our priority is to offer high quality services for students all over Europe.

BEST lays at the heart of the triangle Students-Companies-Universities. We bring these stakeholders together, through different projects all over the year and all around Europe.

LBG Budapest was established at the Budapest University of Technology in 1989, as one of the founding members of the international organization. Due to the constant growth of the local group nowadays our courses and engineering competitions are organized by about 50 volunteer members.

In 1992 LBG Budapest organized the first Jobfair at the Budapest University of Technology and in 2007 our Engineering Competition was the first of its kind in Hungary. We were proud to held the 1-week General Assembly of BEST in April, 2009 with the participation of 250 people. In 2010 a new kind of event, the Trainers’ Forum was hosted first time by our LBG. During this conference trainers of 15 different student organizations gathered and shared ideas. In April 2011 we hosted the Central European BEST Engineering Competition. Besides we regularly arrange motivation weekends and we visit other LBGs every year and also host students from another BEST Group as cultural exchange.
